Holy Moly… The last week of this whole thing. It kind of amazes me that I’ve been consistently playing the cello again for almost 3 months. After my UBC Audition in March 2020, I distanced myself from the happiness that playing the cello brought me because of my frustration of the outcome of my audition. Because of this project, I have been able to have a goal and work past that with the intention fo focusing on the benefit playing the cello brings me, instead of admission to a program I don’t really want to be in. In all, I think I’ve improved a bit, not past what I used to be able to do, but definitely better than where I was in January. Below I’ve put a little “performance” video of some excerpts from some of the pieces I’ve studied this term. I’m thankful for the opportunity this assignment gave me and now have my cello with me to keep working past this assignment to continue learning and growing as a cellist.
