I made this map not of this week, but of a couple weeks before we started practicum. I felt that this would be more interesting because so much is going on. We still have all our classes running, but we have also gotten our placements and are going into the classroom when we can to connect with our mentors. We have gotten field advisors to liaise between the university and us and our mentors. Because our classes are ending, we are submitting all our final projects, most of which are inquiries. A lot of the time profs will chose to do group inquiries so there’s a lot of coordinating with group members to get presentations and reports finished.
I was surprised by just how many people are included in this network. Practicum is an atrocious experience just because of how much there is to do and how much learning is happening on our end, but the month before it starts is sort of when classes and practicum mix together. We have twice as much work to do to finish up courses and get prepped for practicum. This map almost comforts me because it validates the immense stress we feel as teacher candidates and why we feel it.
